Download TheDrumSource Ola Wistedt (Witech) created , a freeware step sequencer and sample-based drum machine. It has a “hardware feel” comparable to old drum machines like the Roland TR-808 and focuses on a clean interface and a quick workflow for beat-making within a Digital Audio Workstation (DAW) or as a standalone program.
Features
- Many sample formats are supported, including 24 bit samples: WAV, AIFF, AIFC, AU, SND, RAW, PAF, IFF, SVX, SF, VOC, W64, MAT4, MAT5, PVF, XI, HTK, CAF, SD2, FLAC, and OGG.
- Built-in sample browser allows for a simple approach when working with samples. Almost all of TheDrumSource’s features are still available while surfing.
- The sequencer includes 24 sequences for your patterns, with each pattern being a 16/32/64/128 sequence.
- A GUI that can be adjusted to fit your screen.
- Each channel contains knobs for pan, loudness, pitch, duration, and swing.
- A example package prepared by Mats Lindfors will be supplied with the installation.
- A simple button for switching between the next and previous samples in the current directory of the selected sample.
- Twelve output channels and one.
- RUN mode. Allows you to experiment with the TheDrumsource sequencer even when your host isn’t performing.
- The sync mode. The host syncs the sequencer, and you may control which of the 24 tracks to play via MIDI (octave 2 and 3).
- MIDI mode. The samples may be played with a MIDI keyboard (octave 1) with the sequencer turned off.
- Clean UI to avoid distractions while working on your creative projects. TheDrumsource does this through the usage of context menus.
